Rinki Productions Uses Nucleo Pro for Isover Commerical Spots

Rinki Production Ltd., based in Helsinki, Finland and founded in 2004, has teamed up with production company, Common Sense, on several spots for advertising agency, BBDO Helsinki. With a multitude of capabilities, such as 3D graphics, visual effects, character animation, and premium sound design and production, Rinki®s work stands out in the competitive computer graphics and design world.

Atte Nurminen, a 3D Animator at Rinki, had noticed a bottleneck in production. After purchasing Nucleo and then upgrading to Nucleo Pro, the winch on creativity opened up.

Plenty of Work, But Our Hands Are Tied

Atte used to be discouraged by how bogged down his computer became when trying to render HD projects. His schedule got backed up waiting for his computer to finish rendering After Effects compositions.

®Because everything took so long to render, it really limited what we were able to create. Our computers were only capable of working on one composition at a time and that kept us from beginning to work on the next sequence,® said Atte Nurminen.

Nucleo Pro Provides the Horsepower You Crave

When you render using Nucleo Pro's background render queue, you can send items in your AE render queue out to render, and then continue to work in After Effects or any other application. Load the background render queue up with compositions from several different projects and Nucleo Pro will let you know when they've finished.

®We knew how well Nucleo worked, but Nucleo Pro has surpassed our expectations. Things are so much faster and much more convenient. We®re now able to commit layers to be rendered in the background and we can get to work on the next layer of images, uninterrupted. We now have more time than ever. So bring on the work,® continued Atte.

Nucleo Pro Paves the Way for Bigger and Better

Rinki put Nucleo Pro to the test on the Isover insulation commercial. The 30-second spot relies heavily on compositing and 3D animation. In fact, more than half the shots include computer generated effects: smoke, flying snow, lights, 3D environments, and sky replacements.

Atte Nurminen was responsible for creating the 3D animated aircraft and parachute that dropped in the much needed insulation for the freezing homeowners. Atte started with stock model of the aircraft and then tweaked the 3D model in Softimage XSI to look like a real DC-3 plane. The parachute and snow FX were all custom work. The HD footage and complex animation layers of texture, propellers, and doors really added to the file size that needed to be rendered.

®Nucleo Pro held up nicely as we pushed the limits of what could be rendered in After Effects. I don®t know what I®d do without this tool,® continued Atte.
